Factory Movements
2020, Performance & InstallationES
Factory Movements is a video and performance piece that emerged from a summer at an olive oil factory, an interest in the choreographies of production and the discovery of Vertov’s Kino-Eye Manifesto.
The camera is used as a tool to track and mimic the rhythm of machines in the factory. Movements of seasonal workers carried out while picking olives and operating machines make their way into a choreoraphy. The dance is performed to the sounds of the machines.
